About e.g. Productions
Founded in 2011 as a platform for bringing professional affordable theatre to the local community, e.g Productions has quickly grown both in terms of notoriety and the size of the projects we produce.
Starting with our first production with just two cast members we have grown to casts of up to eight professional actors, such as in our recent production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
By using only professional Actors and staging well known material we can ensure quality productions which remain accessible to all audiences. Our gifted casts offer incredibly versatile performances sometimes portraying multiple characters - our 2012 production of Jim Cartwright's 'Two' saw just two actors play fourteen roles between them.
From Shakespeare or Chaucer to modern classics by Ayckbourn or Cartwright our love for story telling and a no gimmick approach means a great evening's entertainment for all.
Our open air productions continue to receive increasing praise whilst our unique dinner theatre experience has proved to be a resounding success. Click here for information on our upcoming productions
We are able to adapt our performances to any space, be it indoors or outdoors, and are available for booking.
Meet The Team
e.g productions was conceived in 2011 while Ellen Goddard was drinking a cup of coffee and perusing her bookshelf of plays.
Having been involved in performance for over twenty years, Ellen graduated in 2007 from Bath Spa University with a degree in Performing Arts Acting, and afterwards worked across the UK and Europe as a professional actress.
With a keen eye for project management Ellen has produced a number of charity cabarets. She has been a stage manager at the Bristol Old Vic studio, marketing manager for PTM Productions Ltd. and is now resident producer for e.g. Productions (as well as working as a market manager for a leading fashion retail brand).
The original idea for e.g. productions was to produce work for only two actors (Ellen and Eddie), and the first project (appropriately named Two, by Jim Cartwright) was exactly that. The production was a huge success and the fact that the two actors played fourteen characters between them impressed many of the audience members.
A conversation with one of the sponsors after the production turned out to be the beginning of the next chapter for e.g. and the summer of 2011 saw the beginning of the Dinner Theatre journey. Each year the productions have grown bigger and better with larger cast sizes, more performances and bigger audiences!
Ellen loves the combination of food and live performance and is proud to be part of the only company in the midlands to present this format of theatre. She believes it is the perfect combination for a winning night out with family or friends.
As co-founder of e.g Productions Eddie has enjoyed watching the company go from strength to strength. With each production increasing in scale Eddie has relished meeting and overcoming new challenges in the creative process.
Trained at the Birmingham School of Acting Eddie has worked in the theatre industry for over a decade, touring nationally and internationally with a variety of acclaimed companies. Having developed a passion for Shakespeare, Eddie recently undertook post-graduate study at The Shakespeare Institute, Stratford- making him equally at home with classical or modern performance.
Eddie's first foray into directing came in 2002 when he directed Romeo and Juliet for the Edinburgh fringe. Since then he has directed several productions for youth theatres, spent two seasons directing educational productions for Lingue senza Frontiere in Italy and now six plays for eg. Productions.
